About this mandala coloring page
A warm, harvest-season mandala made for the slow days around Thanksgiving. At the center sits a round seed head packed with little circles, like the face of a sunflower at the end of summer. Around it you'll find a ring of twelve broad leaves, then a band of slim, pointed shapes arranged like ears of wheat. Next comes a circle of round seeds, a ring of smaller pointed leaves, and finally a scalloped edge that looks a lot like a crimped pie crust. Everything repeats twelve times, so once you color one slice you've set the pattern for the whole page. With 150 regions it sits in the medium range, roughly an hour of coloring. That's a calm thing to do while something's in the oven, or a quiet activity for guests who'd rather not watch the game. Print a few copies and leave them on the table with a cup of colored pencils.

Coloring tips
Pick three autumn colors and one accent: rust, mustard and olive with a cream highlight works well. Let the two leaf rings shift from green on the inside to copper on the outside, like a tree turning. Keep the pie-crust scallops a golden tan so the border frames everything, and give the four corner fans a deep brown. If you print it, heavier paper stands up better to markers.
